Use simple viral hack to get the last drops of product out of your near-empty tubs

If you’ve found yourself squeezing a bottle with all your might, just for a disappointing little drop to come out, there’s a hack for you.

And what’s best: a beauty influencer recently put this clever trick to the test in a viral Instagram reel, proving it actually works.

However, there’s a small downside as it might involve getting a little messy with the packaging.

Influencer Dorothy Cubillo (@dorocubillo) decided to test out a hack she saw another creator use, and has gained over 25 million views and 567,000 likes on the video posted on May 11.

In the caption, Cubillo explained: “Don’t trash your empty product, try this hack instead… in this case, I tested it with different bottle sizes and the experiment result was very cool to see.”

The method involves a controversial technique of cutting open product packaging.

By cutting the top of the tubes with scissors, she revealed the remaining product inside.

Then, she unscrewed the lid and placed it in the opening she created.

By pushing the lid down the tube with a makeup brush or similar tool, the product is shifted to the base for easy use.

The lid also helps scrape any remaining product from the edges of the tube, maximising product usage.

The beauty hack generated a lot of buzz, with many people eager to give it a go. One person chimed in, saying it was a genuine hack, unlike others they’d seen.

However, some folks pointed out that the core idea wasn’t entirely new, even though it had some improvements.

One commenter said: “The cap adding is new. But I grew up cutting the bottom and scraping it by hand. Or if soap add water and shake.”
