Beauty fans can get a royal scent on their hair from Percy & Reed’s new collaboration with Historical Royal Palaces. The British haircare brand collaborated with the charity and launched two new hair heroes with a fragrance called Royal Blossom.
The new scent is inspired by the botanicals in Kensington Palace’s gardens. Royal Blossom is a blend with sweet top notes of honey, ivy, orange and mandarin, a floral heart note of orange blossom, rose, jasmine and neroli and warm woody base notes of English oak, cedar and musk.
Wonder Balm Hair Primer and Volumising Dry Shampoo are the two hair icons experts have infused the new scent so shoppers can get a bit of “royal treatment” in the comfort of their home.
The travel-size Royal Blossom Volumising Dry Shampoo keeps your second-day hair fresh and smelling nice. Unlike other dry shampoos on the market, the Percy & Reed version has an activator ball inside the can so it works to clean the hair and absorbs oils without leaving any white chalky residue.
The £10 multi-tasker can work on all hair types and colours. It helps to boost root volume and add texture to revive hair between washes.
Wonder Balm Hair Primer (£25), now infused with the new Royal Blossom scent, is a Percy & Reed bestseller. With more than a million sold worldwide, the hair primer can be used as a pre-styler to create a “weightless base for styling”, a hair perfector to seal the cuticle and conceal any irregularities, and also a frizz and humidity protection for up to 72 hours.
So far there are no reviews of the products with their new scents, but plenty of reviews of the normal Wonder Balm Hair Primer (£22) praise the product. One reviewer states: “I have been using this Primer for a while and it is amazing. It leaves my hair easy to manage, tangle free and makes my hair look healthy. It is a must for me and would recommend it.”
Another added: “Essential product – I use this whenever I wash my hair a few days a week, I love it.” However, some people with finer hair didn’t notice much of a difference. On such review said: “Saw no improvement in the look of my fine hair I’m afraid.”
One person pointed out that while they like the product they “need to use quite a bit, so it doesn’t go far”.
Drybar detox dry shampoo, £21, is a good alternative if you are looking for a matte finish on your hair. But you will need to gently rub and brush it through after it dries up.
