Marks and Spencer’s £39.50 dress hailed as ‘beautiful’

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is opened to RHS members from Tuesday May 21, 2024, and the public can join in on the gorgeous garden exhibition from Thursday, May 23.

The Great Spring Show, as it’s otherwise known as, is held for five days by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in the affluent West London district.

Attended by members of the British royal family, guests are sure to dress their best for the spectacular event.

Hailed as “absolutely beautiful” by one Marks and Spencer (M&S) shopper, the £39.50 dress could be an option for a last-minute outfit dash.

Linda, the M&S shopper, said: “Absolutely beautiful dress; hides all your imperfections. Smart and casual summer dress, washes and dries great.”

In agreement, another said the “very nice dress” would work well “for any occasion”; the material is “nice” and the dress has a “good shape”.

Another added: “The dress looks better than I thought it would, crepe-type fabric, attractive design and colour… slightly 1930’s in style. It fits perfectly and the sleeve detail adds interest.”

Around 87 have commented on the Ditsy Floral Midi Tea Dress, with the only complaints being that it’s “not true to size”.

Minnioe elaborated: “Very disappointed with this dress. Lovely quality but not true to size.

“Very tight under bust. Peculiar shape from waist downwards as it hugs hips and legs. Not flattering. Tried [sizes[ 16 and 18 but had to return both.”

There aren’t many sizes now available due to the popularity of the dress, but M&S have other pretty designs. Take, for example, the Pure Cotton Broderie Midi Shirt Dress, which is available in two colours: Soft White and Onyx.

The £59 dress has been described as a “fabulous dress” that was the “perfect length”. 

There are concerns, however, with “poor sizing” so multiple try-ons might be required if the reviews are to go by.

Elsewhere, Mango offer a stunning Asymmetrical Floral Dress in Sky Blue for £79.99. The flowy and sleeveless dress is most definitely a head turner – for all the right reasons.

If worn with a fitted jacket, it will be the perfect pairing for a cool walk around the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
