Dakota Johnson’s extreme self-care routine detailed amid engagement news

Dakota Johnson’s self-care routine includes lots of snoozing and cheeky baths.

“I don’t have a regular [wake-up] time,” she told the Wall Street Journal last year. “It depends on what’s happening in my life. If I’m not working, if I have a day off on a Monday, then I will sleep as long as I can.”

The 34-year-old adds: “Sleep is my number one priority in life,” admitting she’s “not functional” unless she gets 10 hours or more hours (though she can “easily go 14 hours”) with her head on the pillow.

And the Madame Web actress has the perfect place to do so – the £10 million Malibu home that she and Chris Martin bought in 2020 boasts a stunning primary bedroom and a freestanding statement tub in her his-and-hers bathroom. The duo just got engaged after dating for six years.

In addition to getting good sleep regularly, she says she likes to take baths and meditate to self-soothe.

Johnson also shared that bathtime can be any time of day depending on her mental health status.

“I will get in a bathtub at any moment, any time of the day,” she said. “If in the middle of the day, I’m like, ‘Oh God, what is this world?’ I’ll get in the bathtub.”

She added: “I find water really grounding.”

She also aims to meditate twice a day to help with her anxiety.

“I do transcendental meditation,” she explained. “I’ve been really into breathwork recently and that’s been helping me a lot with anxiety.”

She contributes working out and eating healthy to her overall health routine.

She aims to work out five days a week primarily doing hot yoga, pilates and body weight training.

As for her diet, Johnson said she is “not really a breakfast person,” however, she usually has “coffee as quickly as” she can, mentioning that she “loves an oat milk flat white.”
