Amazon shoppers hail laundry basket with legs that ‘saves on bending’

Amazon customers are raving about a “clever” laundry basket with collapsible legs, hailing it as a “great idea”. The AGP laundry basket is designed with folding legs that extend and retract when the sides of the basket are pressed together.

AGP’s product description claims: “This clever basket takes the stress out of your washing. Put your washing in the basket and simply press the sides and the legs will pop out. When you are finished just press the sides and the legs retract and then you can stack them to keep them neatly away.”

Boasting a sizeable 38-litre capacity and equipped with side handles for easy carrying, AGP does note that the colour of the basket may vary. With an impressive average score of 4.2 out of 5 stars on Amazon from nearly 180 customer reviews, the laundry basket has garnered plenty of positive feedback, according to Nottinghamshire Live.

Among the satisfied customers is Andie, who left a glowing five-star review: “This is brilliant! I put it by the washing machine, legs up to take the washing out of the machine, then pull the levers on the sides and the legs pop down, ready to take into the garden to hang out the washing. I love it and wish I’d had one forever. Definitely recommend.”

Another customer enthused: “Love this. I suffer from back and joint problems and this really helps as there’s no bending constantly. Great size. Well worth the money.”

Meanwhile, a third chimed in: “This laundry basket is absolutely brilliant. I have arthritis in my knees and a bad back and it makes such a difference not having to bend down to the ground to get washing to hang up. Best thing I have bought to help me to be independent.”

However, some customers had reservations about the product. One remarked: “I thought this was a great idea, and the basket was pretty good. It is lightweight and easy to operate. You just press on the handles and the legs drop down.

“I have had this for a few months now and I notice one set of legs doesn’t always want to come back up and often springs down without the handle being pressed, which is a little annoying, especially if it is full of wet washing.

“It still works and is sturdy and lightweight. Another issue is the cut-outs in the basket floor, which are a haven for bits of tissue, hair, and other dirt and they are difficult to clean.

“In comparison to others on the market, it’s competitively priced and definitely worth the investment. It would be particularly beneficial for those in wheelchairs, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities – I can envision many people finding this product a godsend. To sum up – despite the occasional leg malfunction, this is a fantastic product, reasonably priced and of decent quality. I’d consider purchasing another one.”

Alternatively, Lakeland offers a convenient laundry basket trolley that fits most standard-sized baskets, making it easier to transport laundry from the washing machine to the line or dryer.
